Determining Possible Sites for Outdoor Skateparks in Montreal

Inspired by a vision for Montreal where skateboarding is accessible to all, this project was initiated to address the growing demand for designated skateboarding spaces. Recognizing the popularity of skateboarding among residents, the aim was to identify suitable locations for a new outdoor skatepark. Using Multi-criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), Boolean scenarios, querying techniques and weighted decision analysis, the project produced a comprehensive list of potential skatepark sites, ranked for suitability. Buffer zones were established to optimize distribution across the city. Under the supervison of Dr. Angela Kross.
